For a decade now, 33 1/3 has been taking music lovers deep — very, very deep — into their favorite albums through the publishing imprint’s series, in which writers explore individual records over the course of entire books. (You don’t know obsessive until you’ve read 30,000 words on Trout Mask Replica or Illmatic.) Authors have included accomplished critics, prominent novelists (Jonathan Lethem), musicians (The Decemberists’ Colin Meloy), and straight-up fanboys and -girls. Tonight, help celebrate 10 years of musical devotion with your fellow pop enthusiasts at this party in DUMBO. The event features drinks, trivia, and talks from Canadian critic Carl Wilson, who took on Celine Dion’s Let’s Talk About Love for his book, and cultural studies professor Susan Fast, author of volume 100, about Michael Jackson’s Dangerous.
