It’s been 10 years since Mariko Mori presented work in a New York museum. Now the Japanese pop artist is back with a major solo show of her futuristic work at Japan Society. Titled “Rebirth: Recent Work by Mariko Mori,” the new exhibit examines Mori’s world through 35 sculptures, drawings, photographs, sound and video in an immersive installation. The show is divided into three parts: the birth of the life force; the present-day rupture of humankind from nature; and the potential for the re-emergence of creative energy. On Saturday, come out for “Cosmic Odyssey: A Space Pop Party in White,” a celebration of the exhibit with an open sake bar from 8 to 9 and a space-age dress code.
Tuesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m. Starts: Nov. 7. Continues through Jan. 12, 2013
