But while notions about Nazis, Native American suffering, and questionable moon landings are all fascinating, let’s not forget the most exquisitely sinister thing of all: The Shining itself. riding rivers of blood are quite enough for lovers of the eerie. Tonight, the 1980 game-changer screens at the Central Park Conservancy Film Festival, as voted on by viewers. Bring a picnic and a blanket to this outdoor viewing that offers free popcorn for all—that is, if the park after dark isn’t too spooky. The film shows rain or shine, but in the unlikely event of a snowstorm, well, let’s hope you’ve got ESP.
