Chubby Mary’s Opens in the East Village; BrisketTown Opens in Williamsburg


Chubby Mary’s, a new hero shop from the cousins behind Artichoke Pizza, opened last week on 14th Street. The duo, Francis Garcia and Sal Basille, know how to sate East Villagers’ drunk cravings (This Little Piggy Had Roast Beef, anyone?) and these new heroes might weasel their way into bar hoppers’ late night diet. 328 E. 14th St.

L’isola Wood Fired Pizza opened in Williamsburg with a roof deck, array of pie choices and a Pat LaFrieda burger. 128 Metropolitan Ave.

The Smith opened its Upper West Side location near Lincoln Center. Jeffrey Lefcourt and Glenn Harris told DNAInfo that the uptown locale will resemble The Smith’s other two outposts in Midtown and the East Village. But this one has a photobooth. 1900 Broadway

Sotto 13 opened in Bigoli’s old West Village location. It’s owned and managed by the same team but the newly branded restaurant will feature small Italian plates. 140 W. 13th St.

BrisketTown, the restaurant behind pop-up barbecue guru Daniel Delaney, opened on Friday in Williamsburg. Delaney raised money this summer by asking customers to pre-order meat. With a home in Brooklyn, now diners won’t have to venture to graveyards for this Texan feast. 359 Bedford Ave.
