Herve Salters played keyboards for everyone from Femi Kuti to DJ Mehdi back in his native Paris. Then he moved to Berkeley and worked with Quannum artists Blackalicious and DJ Shadow. Now Urb Magazine is comparing his work as General Elektriks to Ennio Morricone. That might be just a little far-fetched, but his affable mix of cinematic funk, old school hip hop, easy electronica, and psychedelic pop makes for a mellow crowd-pleaser.
