Uniting to fire the canon of the great jazz label’s great jazz tunes, this septet is a who’s who of NYC swingers. From straw boss Bill Charlap to wild card Ravi Coltrane, they’re aware of repertory’s power to seduce. It’s hard to say no to a keening team playing the bejesus out of “Dolphin Dance” or “Little B’s Poem,” and after the end of a stretch of cross-country dates (don’t hear that too often, right?) they’re likely to be sugar-shit sharp. Secret weapon: Steve Wilson’s alto agility.
