Black Names includes Reggie Cunningham, who as the Mr. Move is responsible for raps called “Easy to Fuck” and “Titty Full of Beer.” No comment. In comparison, Black Names is straight-up loud indie rock, with an early era Lowenstein/Barlow vocal churl and lyrical status-updates-in-waiting like “Seen a lot of ghosts, and they all kinda look like me.” Montreal’s Hollerado is doing this weird thing where they hit a new city and/or country each day and call it a residency. NYC, Quebec, Ontario, Boston, repeat. Will trade hooky guitar pop for gas money. With Ferraby Lionheart.
